Bunnies are high maintenance creatures which require a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cuty creatures that you might think are not harmful, in reality they can hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you make the decision in rearing rabbits they are some things that you may want to know.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are little bunnies that can be kept in small houses and are not good for meat production. Then they will be the bigger ones that need a lot of space to reside. These are the bunnies that are raised for meat production and breeding.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you need to understand that they are vegans, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You can also feed them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa may be given to them as well.
– You must decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you need to raise outdoor bunnies then you must ensure you offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a protective fence. Rabbit houses should be made from metal cages or wood cages because rabbits can eat on the wood.
Rearing rabbits is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just care for them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
