Rabbits are high maintenance creatures which need a lot of attention and affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you could think are not harmful, in fact they may hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you make the decision in rearing bunnies they are some things that you need to find out.
– There are various sizes of bunnies. They are little rabbits that can be kept in small shelters and are not great for meat production. Then they are the bigger ones that need a lot of space to live in. These are the bunnies that are kept for the production of meat and mating.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you need to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can not feed them meat. You should feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You may also feed them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa can be provided to them as well.
– You should decide if you would like to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you would like to raise outdoor bunnies then you should ensure you offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a protective fence. Bunnie houses must be made from steel cages or wood hutches because rabbits may eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
