But if you know very well what you are doing then you will be a happy owner. If you are new to keeping bunnies then its recommended that you discover all you can in rearing these creatures. Once you learn about raising rabbits then you will be prepared for what is ahead of you.
Bunnies are high maintenance animals which require a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you might think are not harmful, in actual fact they can hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you make the decision in raising bunnies they are some things that you may want to know.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are little bunnies that may be kept in small houses and are not good for producing meat. Then they will be the bigger ones that need a lot of space to reside. These are the bunnies that are raised for meat production and reproduction.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you need to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You can also feed them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them germinate more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa may be given to them as well.
– You must decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you would like to raise outdoor rabbits then you must be sure you to offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a protective fence. Rabbit houses should be made from metal cages or wood cages because rabbits may eat on the wood.
Rearing rabbits is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just care for them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some bit of cuddling.
