Rabbits are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention and affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you may think aren’t harmful, in reality they can hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you choose the decision in raising bunnies they are some things that you may want to learn.
– There are different sizes of bunnies. They are little bunnies that may be kept in small shelters and are not great for producing meat. Then they will be the bigger ones that need a lot of space to live in. These are the bunnies that are kept for meat production and mating.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you need to understand that they are vegans, so you can’t feed them meat. You must feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You can also give them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa can be given to them as well.
– You should decide if you would like to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you need to keep outdoor bunnies then you should be sure you to offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a safety fence. Rabbit houses must be made from steel cages or wood hutches because bunnies may eat on the wood.
Rearing bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some little bit of cuddling.
