Rabbits are high maintenance animals which require a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you may think are not harmful, in fact they can hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you make the decision in rearing bunnies they are some things that you may want to learn.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are little bunnies that can be kept in small houses and are not best for meat production. Then they are the bigger ones that need a lot of space to reside. These are the rabbits that are raised for meat production and breeding.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you need to know that they are vegans, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You can also give them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them germinate more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa may be given to them as well.
– You should decide if you would like to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you need to keep outdoor bunnies then you must be sure you to offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a safety fence. Rabbit houses must be made from steel cages or wood cages because bunnies may eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
