But if you really know what you are doing then you will be a cheerful owner. If you are new to keeping rabbits then its highly recommended that you learn all you can in rearing these creatures. Once you learn about rearing rabbits then you will be prepared for what is in front of you.
Rabbits are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you could think aren’t harmful, in fact they may hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you make the decision in raising rabbits they are some things that you may want to know.
– There are different sizes of bunnies. They are small bunnies that can be kept in small shelters and are not best for meat production. Then they are the bigger ones that need a lot of space to reside. These are the rabbits that are kept for meat production and mating.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you have to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You must feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You may also feed them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa may be provided to them as well.
– You should decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you would like to raise outdoor rabbits then you should be sure to offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a protecting fence. Rabbit houses must be made from steel cages or wood cases because bunnies may eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just care for them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little bit of cuddling.
