Your swine pen must be large enough to accommodate all your domestic swine and should be comfortable to your swine as well. To make it comfortable you may install hog wire and concrete slabs. To absorb odors that the pigs produce you may put hay and straws on the floor. You can even design sections in the pen where your swine can feed, rest and relieve themselves. A good roofing is necessary as well to protect your pigs from extreme weather like heat and rainwater.
After you have designed a pig pen you then go ahead in choosing the right swine breed for your project. This needs to be done carefully. Make sure that you purchase your swine from a seller who has learned what are high quality pigs and what are mediocre breeds.
Once your swine are in their houses all you have to do is take good care of them. You can do this by providing them with food plus clean water on daily bases. Also remember to clean the pen every every now and then to ensure that bacteria doesn’t develop in the pen. A healthy hog will produce quality meat thus giving you more profits.
