Rabbits are high maintenance creatures which need a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you could think are not harmful, in reality they may hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you make the decision in raising rabbits they are some things that you may want to find out.
– There are different sizes of bunnies. They are little bunnies that can be kept in small houses and are not best for meat production. Then they will be the bigger ones that require a lot of space to live in. These are the bunnies that are kept for meat production and breeding.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you need to know that they are vegans, so you can not feed them meat. You must feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You may also give them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa may be given to them as well.
– You must decide if you want to keep indoor or outdoor bunnies. If you would like to keep outdoor rabbits then you should ensure you offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a protective fence. Rabbit houses must be made from stainlesss steel cages or wood hutches because rabbits may eat on the wood.
Rearing bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just manage them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little bit of cuddling.
