Bunnies are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you might think are not harmful, in actual fact they may hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you make the decision in raising rabbits they are some things that you need to learn.
– There are various sizes of bunnies. They are little bunnies that may be kept in small houses and are not great for meat production. Then they will be the bigger ones that require a lot of space to reside. These are the bunnies that are raised for meat production and reproduction.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you have to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You may also feed them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa may be given to them as well.
– You must decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor bunnies. If you want to raise outdoor bunnies then you should be sure to offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a protecting fence. Bunnie houses must be made from metal cages or wood cases because bunnies can eat on the wood.
Rearing bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just manage them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
