Becoming a bunny owner can be fun and relaxing. But on the other hand its challenging because bunnies are sensitive creatures.
But if you really know what you are doing then you will be a happy owner. If you are new to raising rabbits then its a good idea that you learn all you can in raising these creatures. Once you learn about raising rabbits then you will be prepared for what is ahead of you.
Rabbits are high maintenance creatures which require a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you could think are not harmful, in reality they may hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you choose the decision in raising bunnies they are some things that you may want to know.
– There are various sizes of bunnies. They are little rabbits that may be kept in small shelters and are not best for meat production. Then they will be the bigger ones that require a lot of space to live in. These are the bunnies that are raised for meat production and breeding.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you need to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You must feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You can also feed them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa can be provided to them as well.
– You should decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you want to raise outdoor bunnies then you must ensure you offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a safety fence. Bunnie houses should be made from stainlesss steel cages or wood cages because rabbits may eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little bit of cuddling.
