Rabbits are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you might think are not harmful, in actual fact they may hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you make the decision in rearing bunnies they are some things that you need to know.

– There are various sizes of rabbits. They are small bunnies that can be kept in small houses and are not good for producing meat. Then they will be the bigger ones that need a lot of space to reside. These are the bunnies that are kept for the production of meat and breeding.

– When it comes to feeding rabbits you need to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can not feed them meat. You should feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You may also feed them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa may be given to them as well.

– You must decide if you would like to keep indoor or outdoor bunnies. If you want to keep outdoor bunnies then you should be sure to offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a protecting fence. Rabbit houses should be made from steel cages or wood cases because bunnies may eat on the wood.

Raising rabbits is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just care for them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some little bit of cuddling.
