Bunnies are high maintenance creatures which require a lot of attention and affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you might think aren’t harmful, in reality they can hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you make the decision in raising rabbits they are some things that you may want to know.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are little bunnies that may be kept in small shelters and are not best for meat production. Then they will be the bigger ones that require a lot of space to reside. These are the rabbits that are kept for the production of meat and mating.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you have to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can not feed them meat. You must feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You can also give them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa may be provided to them as well.
– You must decide if you want to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you need to keep outdoor rabbits then you must be sure you to offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a safety fence. Rabbit houses should be made from steel cages or wood cases because bunnies can eat on the wood.
Rearing rabbits is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some bit of cuddling.
