But if you know very well what you are doing then you will be a happy owner. If you are new to keeping rabbits then its a good idea that you learn all you can in raising these creatures. Once you learn about rearing rabbits then you will be prepared for what is ahead of you.
Rabbits are high maintenance creatures which require a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cuty creatures that you could think are not harmful, in reality they can hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you choose the decision in rearing bunnies they are some things that you need to know.
– There are various sizes of bunnies. They are little bunnies that may be kept in small houses and are not good for producing meat. Then they will be the bigger ones that need a lot of space to reside. These are the rabbits that are kept for meat production and mating.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you have to know that they are vegetarians, so you can not feed them meat. You must feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You may also give them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa can be given to them as well.
– You must decide if you want to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you would like to raise outdoor bunnies then you should be sure you to offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a safety fence. Bunnie houses must be made from steel cages or wood hutches because bunnies may eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
