Rabbits are high maintenance animals which require a lot of attention and affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you might think aren’t harmful, in actual fact they can hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you choose the decision in raising rabbits they are some things that you may want to learn.
– There are various sizes of rabbits. They are little bunnies that may be kept in small shelters and are not good for meat production. Then they are the bigger ones that need a lot of space to reside. These are the bunnies that are kept for the production of meat and reproduction.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you have to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You must feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You can also give them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them germinate more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa may be provided to them as well.
– You must decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you would like to raise outdoor rabbits then you must ensure you offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a safety fence. Rabbit houses must be made from stainlesss steel cages or wood cages because bunnies may eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just care for them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
