Being a bunny owner can be fun and relaxing. But on the other hand its difficult because rabbits are delicate animals.
But if you really know what you are doing then you will be a happy owner. If you are new to raising bunnies then its recommended that you learn all you can in rearing these creatures. Once you learn about rearing bunnies then you will be prepared for what is ahead of you.
Rabbits are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention and affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you may think aren’t harmful, in fact they can hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you choose the decision in rearing rabbits they are some things that you need to learn.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are little bunnies that may be kept in small shelters and are not good for producing meat. Then they are the bigger ones that require a lot of space to reside. These are the bunnies that are raised for meat production and breeding.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you need to know that they are vegetarians, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You may also feed them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them germinate more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa can be provided to them as well.
– You must decide if you want to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you want to raise outdoor rabbits then you must be sure you to offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a safety fence. Rabbit houses must be made from metal cages or wood hutches because bunnies can eat on the wood.
Rearing bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
