Being a rabbit owner can be fun and relaxing. But on the other side its challenging because bunnies are fragile animals.
But if you really know what you are doing then you will be a cheerful owner. If you are new to keeping bunnies then its highly recommended that you learn all you can in raising these creatures. Once you learn about rearing bunnies then you will be prepared for what is ahead of you.
Bunnies are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you may think aren’t harmful, in reality they may hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you make the decision in rearing bunnies they are some things that you need to know.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are little rabbits that may be kept in small houses and are not good for producing meat. Then they are the bigger ones that need a lot of space to live in. These are the bunnies that are raised for the production of meat and breeding.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you have to know that they are vegetarians, so you can’t feed them meat. You must feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You may also feed them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them germinate more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa can be provided to them as well.
– You must decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor bunnies. If you would like to raise outdoor rabbits then you should ensure you offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a safety fence. Bunnie houses must be made from steel cages or wood cases because rabbits can eat on the wood.
Rearing rabbits is not the simplest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just care for them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some bit of cuddling.
