Becoming a bunny owner can be fun and relaxing. But on the other side its challenging because bunnies are fragile creatures.
But if you know very well what you are doing then you will be a happy owner. If you are new to raising bunnies then its highly recommended that you learn all you can in rearing these creatures. Once you learn about rearing rabbits then you will be prepared for what is ahead of you.
Bunnies are high maintenance creatures which require a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you might think aren’t harmful, in reality they may hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you make the decision in rearing rabbits they are some things that you may want to learn.
– There are different sizes of bunnies. They are small bunnies that may be kept in small houses and are not good for producing meat. Then they will be the bigger ones that need a lot of space to reside. These are the rabbits that are raised for meat production and breeding.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you need to understand that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You can also give them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them germinate more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa may be given to them as well.
– You must decide if you want to keep indoor or outdoor bunnies. If you want to raise outdoor bunnies then you should be sure you to offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a protective fence. Rabbit houses should be made from steel cages or wood cases because rabbits may eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just manage them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some bit of cuddling.
