Bunnies are high maintenance animals which require a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you may think aren’t harmful, in fact they may hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you make the decision in rearing bunnies they are some things that you may want to find out.
– There are various sizes of rabbits. They are little rabbits that can be kept in small shelters and are not best for meat production. Then they are the bigger ones that require a lot of space to reside. These are the bunnies that are kept for the production of meat and mating.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you need to know that they are vegetarians, so you can’t feed them meat. You must feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You may also feed them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa can be provided to them as well.
– You should decide if you would like to keep indoor or outdoor bunnies. If you need to raise outdoor bunnies then you must ensure you offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a safety fence. Bunnie houses must be made from steel cages or wood hutches because rabbits may eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the simplest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just care for them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some little bit of cuddling.
