Rabbits are high maintenance creatures which require a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cuty creatures that you may think are not harmful, in reality they can hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you make the decision in rearing bunnies they are some things that you need to find out.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are little bunnies that can be kept in small shelters and are not best for meat production. Then they will be the bigger ones that require a lot of space to reside. These are the rabbits that are kept for the production of meat and mating.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you need to understand that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You may also give them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa can be given to them as well.
– You should decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor bunnies. If you would like to keep outdoor bunnies then you should be sure you to offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a protective fence. Rabbit houses must be made from metal cages or wood hutches because bunnies can eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just care for them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
