But if you know very well what you are doing then you will be a happy owner. If you are new to keeping rabbits then its highly recommended that you discover all you can in raising these creatures. Once you learn about raising bunnies then you will be prepared for what is in front of you.
Rabbits are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention and affection. Although they are cuty creatures that you could think are not harmful, in fact they can hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you make the decision in rearing rabbits they are some things that you need to know.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are little bunnies that can be kept in small houses and are not great for producing meat. Then they will be the bigger ones that require a lot of space to reside. These are the rabbits that are raised for meat production and mating.
– When it comes to feeding rabbits you have to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You must feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You can also give them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them germinate more powerful and healthy. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa can be provided to them as well.
– You must decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you would like to keep outdoor rabbits then you should be sure to offer protection for them. You should build them shelter and a safety fence. Bunnie houses should be made from steel cages or wood hutches because rabbits may eat on the wood.
Raising rabbits is not the simplest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just manage them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little bit of cuddling.
