Bunnies are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention and affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you might think are not harmful, in reality they may hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are very strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you make the decision in rearing rabbits they are some things that you may want to know.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are small bunnies that may be kept in small shelters and are not best for meat production. Then they will be the bigger ones that require a lot of space to reside. These are the bunnies that are kept for the production of meat and mating.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you have to know that they are vegans, so you can’t feed them meat. You must feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You can also feed them bunnie pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa may be given to them as well.
– You must decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you would like to raise outdoor rabbits then you should be sure to offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a safety fence. Rabbit houses must be made from metal cages or wood cages because rabbits may eat on the wood.
Rearing rabbits is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little cuddling.
