Being a bunny owner can be exciting and relaxing. But on the other hand its challenging because bunnies are sensitive creatures.
But if you really know what you are doing then you will be a happy owner. If you are new to keeping rabbits then its recommended that you learn all you can in rearing these creatures. Once you learn about raising bunnies then you will be prepared for what is ahead of you.
Rabbits are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention and affection. Although they are cute cuddy creatures that you could think are not harmful, in reality they can hurt you if you handle them in a way they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to kick you off. So before you choose the decision in raising bunnies they are some things that you may want to know.
– There are different sizes of rabbits. They are small bunnies that may be kept in small shelters and are not great for meat production. Then they are the bigger ones that require a lot of space to live in. These are the bunnies that are kept for the production of meat and reproduction.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you have to know that they are vegetarians, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy veggies like carrots and cabbages. You may also give them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them grow more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay and alfalfa can be given to them as well.
– You should decide if you wish to keep indoor or outdoor rabbits. If you would like to raise outdoor rabbits then you must be sure you to offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a protective fence. Bunnie houses must be made from metal cages or wood hutches because bunnies can eat on the wood.
Raising bunnies is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them proper housing, feeding them right and also some little bit of cuddling.
