Rabbits are high maintenance animals which need a lot of attention plus affection. Although they are cuty creatures that you may think are not harmful, in reality they can hurt you if you handle them in a manner they don’t like. Their back legs are strong and they use them to beat you off. So before you choose the decision in rearing rabbits they are some things that you may want to find out.
– There are various sizes of bunnies. They are little bunnies that may be kept in small houses and are not good for meat production. Then they will be the bigger ones that need a lot of space to live in. These are the bunnies that are raised for the production of meat and reproduction.
– When it comes to feeding bunnies you need to know that they are non-meat eaters, so you can’t feed them meat. You should feed them chewy vegetables like carrots and cabbages. You can also give them rabbit pellets since they have a lot of nutrients which will help them germinate more powerful and healthier. A supplementary diet of hay or alfalfa can be provided to them as well.
– You should decide if you want to keep indoor or outdoor bunnies. If you would like to raise outdoor bunnies then you must be sure to offer protection for them. You must build them shelter and a protecting fence. Rabbit houses should be made from metal cages or wood cases because bunnies may eat on the wood.
Raising rabbits is not the easiest thing to do but at the same time its not that difficult. Just look after them by giving them good housing, feeding them right and also some bit of cuddling.
