Your pig pen should be large enough to accommodate your pigs and should be comfortable to your swine as well. To make it comfortable you may install hog wire plus concrete slabs. To absorb odors that the pigs produce you may put hay plus straws on the floor. You can even design parts in the pen where your pigs can feed, sleep and relieve themselves. A good roofing is needed as well to protect your pigs from extreme weather like heat and rain.
After you have designed a pig pen you then go ahead in choosing the right pig breed for your project. This has to be done carefully. Make sure that you purchase your pigs from a seller who knows what are high quality pigs and what are mediocre breeds.
Once your swine are in their houses all you need to do is take good care of them. You can do this by providing them with food plus clean water on daily bases. Keep in mind to clean the pen every occasionally to ensure that bacteria doesn’t grow in the pen. A healthy pig will produce quality meat thus bringing you more income.
