When beginning pig farming you should first plan on where you want your pigs to call home. For pig housing you should construct a well aired pig pen which is spacious as well. You must place your swine pen in a flat place that is free from mud that can being insects.

Your pig pen must be large enough to accommodate your domestic swine and should be comfortable to your swine as well. To make it comfortable you can install hog wire and concrete slabs. The fence must be buried 6 inches deep in the ground so that the pigs don’t dig under it. Concrete slabs will make sure that the floor is proper and easy to clean.

To absorb smells that the pigs produce you can put hay and straws on the floor. You can also design parts in the pen where your swine can feed, sleep and relieve themselves. A nice roofing is needed as well to protect your pigs from extreme weather like heat and rain.

After you have designed a pig pen you then go ahead in choosing the right pig breed for your project. This should be done carefully. Make sure that you purchase your swine from a seller who has learned what are high quality pigs and what are mediocre breeds.

Once your swine are in their houses all you need to do is take good care of them. This can be done by providing them with food and clean water everyday. Remember to clean the pen every once in a while to make sure that bacteria doesn’t grow in the pen. A proper pig will produce quality meat thus bringing you more income.
