When beginning pig farming you should first plan on where you want your domestic swine to call home. For pig housing you must construct a well ventilated pig pen which is spacious as well. You must place your swine pen in a flat place that is free from mud that can attract insects.

Your swine pen must be large enough to accommodate all your swines and should be comfortable to your swine as well. To make it comfortable you can install hog wire plus concrete slabs. The surrounding fence should be buried six inches deep in the ground so the pigs don’t dig under it. Concrete slabs will make sure that the floor is proper and easy to clean.

To absorb odours that the pigs produce you can put hay plus straws on the ground. You may also design parts in the house where your swine can feed, rest and relieve themselves. A good roofing is necessary as well to protect your swine from extreme weather like heat and rain.

After you have designed a pig pen you then go ahead in getting the right swine breed for your task. This should be done carefully. Make sure that you purchase your swine from a seller who has found out what are high quality pigs and what are mediocre breeds.

Once your swine are in their houses all you have to do is take good care of them. This can be done by providing them with food and clean water on daily bases. Keep in mind to clean the pen every once in a while to make sure that bacteria doesn’t grow in the pen. A proper hog will produce quality meat thus giving you more profits.
